Doggies, Doggies Everywhere

A couple of weeks ago, I went to my doggy friend, Roni's second birthday party. As you can see, there were a lot of doggies there. Sometimes I think that I might be a doggy. Anyway, I toddled around, playing with all of the different doggies until it was time to leave. I even tried to eat some of the special doggy birthday cake! It was SO much fun!

Stupid Daycare

I am sick... snot bubbles, coughing, no appetite sick. The kind of sick that prevents you from sleeping well. The kind of sick that could lead to an ear infection. All because I went to daycare for one week. How can something so fun go so terribly wrong? I have felt terrible for so long, I am starting to forget what it feels like to be healthy!

Missing Mommy- NOT

I kind of thought that I might miss Mommy once she went back to work full-time. Fortunately, Mommy going back to work means more one-on-one time with Daddy. I barely notice Mommy is gone. Lucky, lucky me!

Daycare

This week was my first experience with daycare. Since Daddy gave notice at work, he has been working from home in the mornings and going into the office in the afternoons. While he is at the office, I go to a daycare center where I get to play with really fun toys and meet new friends. So far, I am liking it a lot. Lucky for me, I get to go for another two weeks. Yippee!!

Kissing Bandit

Yep... that's me- the Kissing Bandit. I finally figured out how to make kisses. But don't get too excited- I only like kissing doggies. Sometimes, I will kiss pictures of animals from my books, but am yet to kiss an actual person. I guess animals are just more fun!

16 Months

Do you remember when we counted my age in weeks? It seems so long ago now that I am officially 16 months old!

Pine Lake Blueberry Farm

Last Tuesday, Daddy took a bike ride and found a U-Pick blueberry farm right here in Sammamish. He hasn't stopped talking about and couldn't wait to take me and Mommy. So, this afternoon, we went. It was so much fun! Blueberries are delicious- even the green ones. Now that I am walking so well, I walked right up to the blueberry bushes and started picking. That's how I accidentally had some green ones- I am not sure which are the ripe ones and which are the ones still growing. I have to admit, I am much better at the eating than the picking. I heard Mommy suggesting that we invite Jana, Caileb, and Mia to go back with us later this week. I can't wait!

Thursday Night Concerts

All summer long the City of Sammamish hosts free concerts at Pine Lake Park. This summer, we went to all but one of them- Mommy did just the opposite with her camera (never remembered it except once). Lots of fun things happened at these concerts. First, we always went with Jesse, Jana, Caileb, and new baby Mia. That in itself was a ton of fun. Once we even went early and I got to go in the lake for a little wading time. Next, we met some new friends with a baby named Gloria. She is just one month younger than me. We haven't done anything outside the concerts yet, but I am hoping to see her again soon. Thirdly, Plateau Jewelers gave away free beach balls at each concert. As you can imagine, they were a big hit with the kids. I loved playing with them! Finally, at the last concert (the one concert Mommy actually remembered her camera) one of the salons gave out balloons. Beach balls and balloons- it doesn't get much better than that!

Look At Me!

90-10

For those of you keeping track at home, I am now walking 90% of the time and only relying on my excellent crawling skills 10%. Can you believe it? After only a couple of weeks, I am already becoming an expert at walking! I am getting so confident now I even want to walk down the stairs facing forward. Mommy and Daddy keep telling me that's not a good idea, but I don't see why not- they do it (Trev-dog does it, too!). I guess I will just have to wait- I don't anticipate it will be long now!

Woodland Park Zoo

Last Sunday, Mom and Dad (and their friend, Dan) took me to the Woodland Park Zoo! I saw giraffes, hippos, monkeys, and bears. I also saw a lot of kids running around and having fun. Sometimes the kids were more fun to watch than the animals. After looking at the animals, we went into the Zooazium, a place just for kids to run around and explore. That is where most of the pictures were taken. Look at me getting around!

Dog Park

Did you realize that you can have just as much fun at the dog park as a toddler that a dog has as a dog? Last night, Mommy and Daddy took me to the Beaver Lake off the leash area (they were visiting their friends Scott and Joy). I had the best time ever!! There we so many cute little dogs- just my size!! I couldn't get enough of walking up to them and giving them gentle pats. I overheard Daddy saying that he has never seen me walk so much or so well. I guess I just needed the right motivation! I really hope we get to go back to the dog park soon!!

I Did It!

Yesterday, in Mommy's classroom, I took my first official steps! Can you believe it?! I am actually learning to walk! I am still a little wobbly and often want to crawl because it feels safer, but I am getting braver every time I try it. I can't wait to show off my new skills to all of my friends! They are going to be so excited that I can actually keep up with them now!
