Mommy's Scare

I gave Mommy the biggest scare of her life yesterday. Here's what happened:

Mommy woke me up early from my afternoon nap to take me to her teacher meeting. After the meeting, we went to Target for some shopping. By the time we got home it was 4:45 (way past the time for my late afternoon nap). Assuming that I was exhausted, Mommy put me in my crib without my sleep sack. Usually, I am too tired to play and fall right to sleep, but yesterday I had a different plan. After Mommy had been downstairs for awhile, I put my plan into action. Mommy heard a loud thumping coming from my room. She had a couple of guesses of what I was up to, including kicking the crib bars or the head board. It didn't take long before her curiosity got the best of her. When she walked in my room, her heart stopped as she saw me standing in my crib for the very first time!! I couldn't help but smile. Well, my standing was short lived as she instantly snatched me up and lowered my crib mattress to the very lowest setting! Now for a new way to scare Mommy...

My First Easter

Look at how much fun I had with my very first Easter basket. And, Mommy and Daddy were so excited about one of my birthday presents that they let me play with it a little early!

Three Techniques

I have three different techniques for getting around:

- barrel roll: I already told you about this one, but now I can continue rolling to get someplace

- sit crawl: I use this to move forward and remain in a position that will allow me to sit up once I reach my destination

- backward scoot: from the traditional crawling position, I push myself backward

These techniques are great, but walking will be better (and faster)!

Just Playin'

Here are some more pictures of me playing in the purple jogging suit my Aunty Belinda got me for Christmas. It is still a little big, but super warm and comfortable. Aren't I cute?!

Playing with Trev-Dog

While Trevor has shook and hit me in the head twice in the last two weeks, I still love him so much! He really likes it when I grab his fur and pet him. In fact, he liked it so much that he leaned back, wanting me to scratch his tummy. He should know better- my little arms can't reach all the way to his tummy yet!

Bit Out!

I couldn't help it... I just grabbed onto it with my new teeth and didn't let go! Now, look! I accidentally bit out my froggy's eye!

Rolly Polly

I am just the cutest little "Rolly Polly" you have ever seen! In just the last couple of days, I have become an expert at rolling over! I can roll from my stomach to my back AND from my back to my stomach! This has been a really helpful skill as I snatch toys on my belly and flip to my back to play with them! I am still working on the crawling. I mostly just scoot backwards (which I don't really mind except that it usually moves me farther from my toys instead of closer). I am also working on my walking although that is going even worse than my crawling! I'll just stick to the rolling for now!
