It's Final

I just found out that Mommy is going back to work part-time. I guess I should have known there was something up when she left me home alone with Daddy two days in a row. Apparently, she is going to be teaching a class called SAGE (a gifted pull-out program). My first thought was, I'm gifted... maybe I will be in Mommy's class when I am older. Anyway, she is going to be working two full days and one half day. Mommy and Daddy interviewed a lot of nice ladies to be my nanny, but they finally chose a girl named Jana. She is German and has a baby boy named Caileb. I am really excited to see what it is like at her house. My first visit with Jana and Caileb will be on Wednesday. I can't wait!

My First Giggle

Today I shocked myself and Daddy with my first giggle. It was not just a little tiny chuckle either, it was a nice long giggle. Now all I have to do is figure out how I did it so I can do it again for Mommy.

Four Month Appointment

I had my four month check-up with Dr. Brunner yesterday. Everything looks good. I am almost a whole ten pounds now! And, I am 23 inches long! Unfortunately, I had to get the second round of my immunizations. Every shot just makes me tougher and tougher. Dr. Brunner talked to Mom and Dad about introducing real food soon. I can't wait! I see so many delicious looking things! I am very curious about what things taste like! My next appointment is in two months.

In North Carolina

This month has been SO busy for my little baby self! We got back from North Carolina early Tuesday morning. I was so exhausted!! All I wanted to do was sleep the entire next day, but Mommy kept waking me up and making me eat. Trust me, sleep was WAY more important to me than eating. The trip went well except it was SUPER overstimulating being around all my aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. The nieces were the worst. They were constantly pinching my cheeks, holding my hands, and cooing in my face. I could usually control myself until the end of the day, but once dinner time came, I let EVERYONE know that enough was enough! There were a lot of exciting parts, too. I got to go into the Atlantic Ocean with Daddy, swim in two different pools, and watch two great thunder and lightning storms. Hopefully, I will see everyone again soon!

One More Day

I only have one more day to wait until we leave for Virginia (then North Carolina) to celebrate Gran and Grandaddy's 50th wedding anniversary. It will also be the first time that I am meeting my auntys, uncles, and cousins from my dad's family. I am a little nervous about the trip since we will be travelling to a different time zone. I have been doing such a good job of sticking to my schedule... I hope that I will be able to adjust quickly because Mom, Dad, and I always have a better time when I am following my schedule. I will try to check in during our trip, but just in case I am too busy, we will get back to Seattle on the 20th.

Mommy's Bad Habit

Okay, I wasn't going to say anything because I thought that Mommy would realize how annoying her habit is and stop, but she hasn't so... Mommy likes to pick my boogers! Can you believe it? I know I am in for it when I here her say, "I see another one!" This is followed by her pinching, stretching, and squeezing my nose in an attempt to grab the booger out. Then, she says, "I got it! Wow, that was so satisfying." Satisfying to who? I don't know about Mommy, but I DO NOT appreciate having my nose disarranged just to get at something that doesn't even bother me! Not to mention that it seems as if Mommy is trying to teach me a bad habit. I don't see anyone else picking their nose- it's just not polite. Just wait until I can use my hands better... my fingers will be in Mommy's nose and then she will know how it feels!

Found My Feet

First it was my arms and hands.... now this! I have these two kind of big things at the end of my legs called feet! I am not quite sure what they are good for since they just seem to stick out in front of me all of the time, but they sure are interesting to watch. Sometimes when Dad holds me, I put these feet down and they seem to hold me up. I wonder if this is what they are for. I will have to keep my eye out for how the grown ups use their feet.

First Roadtrip

We just got back from my first road trip. Mommy and Daddy took me all the way to Bozeman, Montana. Mommy fed me at 10:00 p.m. and then put me to bed Saturday night and when I woke up in the morning, we were in Montana! I had no idea that we had even left the house. We did a lot of very special things on our trip. On Sunday, we drove up the Gallatin River to the 320 Ranch to visit my "Montana Family." The ranch is where my Grandpa Kiemel used to work. They really loved him there! In fact, they even have a picture of him hanging right in the front office for all to see. I overheard Pat (general manager) saying that people still ask about him all of the time. It seems that my grandpa was one special guy! We spent Sunday night at the ranch. Then, on Monday, we did some exploring toward the south at a place called Quake Lake. By the time we got back to Bozeman, it was time to check into our hotel. For dinner, we ate at my grandpa's favorite restaurant- Famous Dave's BBQ. Mommy and Daddy seemed to really enjoy the food there. Tuesday morning was when I officially got to see where my grandpa is buried. Mommy took me right up to his grave site. She told him all about me and even left a couple of pictures so that he will remember who I am. After our visit, Mommy and Daddy rolled me around town in my stroller. Then, we headed out to Daddy's property in a place called Manhattan. Once Daddy had a chance to get into the river, we got back on I-90 to head home to Washington. The ride home was not nearly as nice as the ride there! Do you know how hard it is to sit in a car seat for 11 hours? At least heading out to Montana I was able to sleep through the ride. On the way home, I felt like the trip would never end! Hopefully, by the time we go next year, I will be able to adjust myself and find more comfortable positions. Aside from the long ride, I definitely like the idea of road trips and look forward to taking another one soon!
