Catching Up

Well, the summer is finally here (or at least that is what the calendar says- the weather is still not so great). Mommy is off with me and baby all day everyday. I am going to split this entry into two parts- a me part and a Nash part. I will do my best to record all of the new and exciting things happening in each of our lives.

Paige

- I turned three on April 24th. I didn't want much for my birthday- just a play date with my best friend Lily. I know Lily from Kindercare. I really like that she wears dresses everyday. In fact, I like dresses a lot more now because of Lily. I got my very own sleeping bag, two homemade outfits from my Godmother Anita, and a tea set as gifts.

- I am completely potty trained now (#1 AND #2). I can even make it through the night in my regular underwear!

- Speaking of night time, I prefer to sleep on the floor in my bedroom. If I wake up in the night, I sometimes drag my blankets and pillow into Mommy and Daddy's room. I will make a bed for myself on the floor next to their bed.

- I am becoming a lot more independent and often have to say, "I do it," to Mommy and Daddy. I love helping out with baby. I am usually the one who tells Mommy and Daddy that baby has a stinky diaper and I will even help change it! I have watch how baby gets fed and I help with that, too. I like sharing... well, sometimes.

- I am great at riding my trike. I have been on some pretty long rides, like the time I went all the way around Greenlake. I have also been really into picking flowers as gifts. I always pick one for Mommy, Daddy, and baby.

- Grammy came for a visit a couple weeks ago. We had a lot of fun. When I am in the mood, I will talk to Grammy on the phone. Even if I do not want to talk to them, I talk about my family A LOT. I often ask about Grandpa Bob and Uncle S-P. Mommy just told me that we are doing to a family reunion in a couple of weeks and then I will get to meet/see all of my other cousins, aunts and uncles.

- I LOVE artwork. It is one of my favorite activities at school. I am constantly making "presents" for people out of paper and markers.

Nash

- Nash will be nine months old on July 3rd. It seems like just yesterday baby was still in Mommy's tummy.

- He is a great little brother. I love making him laugh by dancing or saying "Booga, booga..." I will even give him toys in the car. Sometimes he pulls my hair, but it doesn't really hurt; I am one tough girl.

- He really likes it when I read to him or show him my flashcards. It is fun to teach him all of the things I already know.

- Two teeth and solids. Nash has had two bottom teeth since about 6 months and has been enjoying all sorts of new foods. Most recently, he has been eating grapes, Ritz crackers, and anything else Mommy and Daddy think he might like. I tried giving him French Toast this morning (one of my favorites- I eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner!), but he didn't like it at all.

- His sleep is still really good- two naps during the day (8:30-10 and 11:30-2:00) and 12 hours at night (6:30-7:00).

- At the end of March, the person who was watching him while Mommy and Daddy went to work decided she didn't want to watch him anymore so he started with a new person named Kristi. He LOVES Kristi. In fact, a lot of days, he would just smile at Mommy when she came to pick him up but stay in Kristi's arms.

- We took Nash camping for the first time a couple weeks ago. Mommy and Daddy were a little nervous about how he would sleep. It turns out, he did great!! It took him a little bit longer to fall asleep at each nap/bedtime, but once he fell asleep, he was good to go!! Mommy and Daddy feel pretty silly for being too scared to camp when I was his age. I am sure I would have done just fine, too! I can't wait to go camping again soon!

Another LONG Update

I really need to update more often so that I do not have to remember to write so much when I finally do. A bulleted list is probably going to work the best for this post.

- I performed in my first Winter Gala in January. Mommy, Daddy, and Nash were all there to hear me sing all sorts of songs, including Slippery Fish, Five Little Monkeys, and the Bumble Bee song. It was so much fun to do all of the fun hand and body motions!

- I have been to two birthday parties. One was for Fynn and was at his house. Boy, does he have a lot of fun things to play with- I especially liked the new fishing poles he got. The other one was for Savanna. She had her party at 321 Bounce. I loved going down the big slide! In face, that is really all I wanted to do.

- At 2 years and 8 months, I am 95% potty trained now! I love my big girl underwear, especially the ones with pictures on them (the plain ones are just so boring and unspecial). I very rarely have accidents during the day and only every once in awhile in the night. Pooping on the potty is still a little tricky but I am definitely getting better at doing that, too!

- Some of my favorite things to say lately are: "Uh-oh, my nose is running," "Mommy Tasha..." "Crazy Dude," "Hi Grammy," "Sit down," "Clean up, clean up, everybody clean up," "Pee-pee on the potty," and "Relax." I am actually saying so much now- it is amazing how helpful it can be to talk!

- Uncle S-P ("Uncle P" as I call him) came for a visit. We had SO much fun together!! In fact, he taught me how to fish and play pass with the soccer ball. I also had a ton of fun showing him all of my toys.

- Baby Nash is doing really well, too! He is getting so much bigger. At 4.5 months, he can stand up in the bouncy chair that hangs from the doorway. He is also smiling and laughing a lot more. He spends his days with Angela and seems to be doing really well being away from Mommy all day long. This is great news since Mommy really loves working! He is still drinking milk (but formula now instead of mother's milk) and can sleep through from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (he started this at just 10 weeks, two whole weeks before I did- BLAH!). He kind of hates his car seat so there is A LOT of crying in the car. I am hoping he grows out of this since crying in a small space is pretty miserable. Overall, he is a pretty good little brother.

- Speaking of Nash, I am the best BIG sister ever! I love taking care of him by rocking him when he is sad, wiping his mouth, and bringing him toys when he is sad. Sometimes, I play a little too rough with him and he cries. It is hard to remember that he is just a little baby!

Okay, I think I have hit the highlights from my life lately... I hope to update again sooner rather than later!

Catching Up

Ever since Mommy has been off with Nash, there is no getting on the computer. She is definitely a computer hog... always saying, "Just one more minute..." Well, it has taken its toll on my blog and that is why I am having to catch up on news since Halloween! I was the cutest pirate you will ever see! I loved saying "trick-or-treat" and actually got to "trick-or-treating" twice- once at Microsoft and then with my friend, Gloria. She was Snow White. Believe it or not, I still have candy in my bucket!

I spent November getting to know my baby brother better. He is awake a lot more now and getting better at kicking around. Sometimes, he even holds the small toys I give him. He is also getting really good at smiling. We took him to the doctor for his first official check-up and he was a healthy 10 lbs. 5 oz. He is 10 weeks old and has slept eight consecutive hours 4 nights in a row now. Mommy and Daddy must be loving the extra sleep- as for me, I have a fan in my room so that I do not wake up when he cries. Mommy seems to think that he is losing some of his hair in the front and that it might even be turning blond. I guess only time will tell what is really going on!

We just got back from Palm Springs where I got to see all of my family- Grammy, Grandpa Bob, Uncle S-P (I call him Uncle P), Gran, and Grandaddy. I even met my second cousin whose name is also Nash! Check out the picture of the two Nashs. The trip was pretty fun except of the fact that I was tired a lot. I tried to take my nap everyday but when it came to bedtime, I just didn't want to miss out on any of the fun. One night, I even stayed up to 11:00 p.m.!

I think that is all of the big news... coming up in the next couple of weeks are two holiday parties with my friends, checking out the lights at the botanical garden, and hopefully seeing my Godfather Justin in Olympia.

Pumpkin Patch

Last Saturday, Mommy and Daddy took me to the pumpkin patch to pick out a pumpkin to carve. The pumpkin patch we go to is so much fun... they have fresh cooked mini donuts, hand pressed apple cider, live music, and animals (goats and chickens). The one part that was not so fun was all of the mud! My shoes got so dirty... Daddy had to clean them off for me in the grass. Anyway, after we bought our pumpkins, Daddy and I carved one together. I have to admit that Daddy did most of the work... mostly because I didn't want to touch anything yucky. Check out our super scary jack-o-lantern.

Ah... Isn't He Cute?!

I am having a lot of fun with my new baby brother! I especially like showing him off to my friends at daycare when Mommy picks me up. He is actually a pretty good baby- he usually wakes up twice in the night to eat. And boy can he eat, or so Mommy says... I have overheard her telling people that I was a great sleeper and a not so good eater (I guess I got a little frantic whenever it was time to eat) and that Nash is a great eater and not as good a sleeper (this is probably because of the eating thing). Some of the things I have noticed that Nash likes is sitting in the bouncy chair, sucking a pacifier (I like to call pacifiers "fire trucks"), being rocked in his car seat, and sitting on Mommy or Daddy's lap. He also doesn't seem to mind diaper changes (something else that is different from when I was a baby- I HATED having my diaper changed- screamed every time). I will keep you posted as to anything new or different that Nash does in the days and weeks to come.

Bath Time

Can I just say that bath time is even better now that Nash is around? Check it out... he can be in his baby tubby while I am in the big tubby. Then, after Mommy takes Nash out, I get to pretend I am a baby again- I splash around in the baby tubby until the water gets too cold. Unlike me when I was a baby, Nash LOVES taking baths. He doesn't cry before, during or after... if this continues, we are not going to be anything alike! I am re-posting a picture of one of my first tubbies so that you can see Nash and I side by side... wow, I was a lot smaller than he is!

Fun with Grammy

Here are some pictures from all of the fun things I did while Grammy was in town. She took me ot the farm, the Cougar Mountain Zoo, and a bouncy house. I cannot wait to see her again in December!
