My Weekend
We just got back from a short road trip to Portland, OR to visit one of Daddy's friends from high school and my Godfather (who is only in town for the weekend). I had a great time cuddling with Olivia (Daddy's friend's daughter). She had a friend over named Stella who really knew how to make me laugh. She was one funny girl! Then, today, we headed over to the house my Godfather grew up in; it's in Vancouver, WA. It was a little overwhelming seeing his entire family starring at me, but I relaxed after Mommy changed my diaper and his mom brought our a caroling stuffed dog. It was really fun sitting with my Godfather... I even got my first dental exam!! After that, we started home. We stopped for lunch at Wendy's where my Mommy got a vanilla frosty that she shared with me. Boy, oh boy do I have gas from that! I can't stop letting them rip!! But, it was way worth it!! It wasn't long before we were on the road again... but then I realized that Mommy and Daddy forgot to change my diaper. I cried just long enough for them to pull-over. Leave it to Mommy to pull over at Fort Lewis! You get straight off the freeway right onto the base. Thank goodness Daddy was there to get us back onto the freeway. What was Mommy thinking?! Overall, I had a great weekend road trip!

Pasta and Veggies
Last night, Mommy and Daddy gave me something I have never had before- pasta with white sauce and peas. They just mashed up some of the food they had for lunch. It was really good! And last week, they blended up some broccoli and cauliflower (they got the recipe out of the baby food cookbook that my Godmother bought them for Christmas). I really liked that, too! There is so much great food that I haven't even explored! I can't wait to try more!
Exciting Week
My grammy was here all last week to play with me! She came on Monday and left on Friday. It was perfect since Nanny Jana is still in Germany. We played a lot of fun games together and she even made up a song all about me. Every time I hear it, I get super excited (and a little embarrassed). It starts likes this, "Who is this beautiful baby? Paige is her name..." Grammy also helped me get better at a lot of things, too. I am better at pulling myself up by holding onto Grammy's two fingers, drinking out of a cup, feeding myself finger foods, and standing. Grammy also introduced to me some new foods, like baby cheese puffs. It was a SUPER week! I was sad to see Grammy go! Hopefully, she will be back soon!

Sips and Splashes
I have just discovered two new things that I can do- splash during bath time and drink from a cup. It started a couple of nights ago when I was in my little bathtub. I just started moving my arms up and down and all around. The next thing I knew, I was splashing water everywhere! I have to admit that I am still a little disturbed when I hit myself in the face with water, but I am getting used to it with each bath. About the same time, Mommy started putting water or juice in a cup (not one of those annoying sippy cups that requires you to suck in and chomp down on it at the same time) but a real cup- the kind she and Daddy drink from. Well, anyway, I am getting really good at taking some of the liquid into my mouth and swallowing it. Don't get me wrong, I am NO expert (I still dribble quite a bit of liquid out the sides of my mouth) but it won't be long before I don't need my bottle anymore. High five to me!

Best Godfather Ever!
I have the best Godfather ever!! I just opened a whole box of brand new baby toothbrushes! I love them! They are WAY better than the lame one Mommy bought be from Target! I have already asked her to return it. The ones Godfather Justin sent me have the Baby Einstein characters on them. I have already opened one up and tried it out in my mouth. I really like the way it feels, not to mention that my new teeth are being cleaned at the same time!

100th Post
This is my 100th post! Can you believe it?! What a day for it, too- my very first Christmas. I had a great time opening presents... er... letting Mommy and Daddy open my presents and then give them to me to play with. I got a lot of fun things like blocks, foam letters, 2 dollies, towels, and a super cool toolbox with my name on it! I also got a couple new outfits, a snow hat and mittens, a pair of bear shoes, and a cute book about doggies from my doggy Trevor. To top it all off, I got to wear my special Christmas outfit from Grammy. It even snowed!! I hope everyone had a great day... I know I did!

Look, I'm Standing!
Okay, so I have to admit that Daddy put me in my crib already standing up, but at least I am strong enough to keep myself standing!
Food... I Love Food!
Here I am eating real (and some look-alike) food items. Either way, I love putting food (or anything that looks like it) in my mouth. I am definitely my parents' baby!

My First Christmas
Some of you may have noticed that I was wearing super comfy, red footsie pjs in the pictures with our Christmas tree. Well, these are my very special "My First Christmas" pjs that my Grandpa Bob sent me. Grammy and Grandpa's boxes with gifts arrived awhile ago and Grammy told Mommy that I got to open one of my gifts a little early. When I saw the wrapped package, I didn't know what to with it. I mean, it looked great just the way it was. Mommy untaped one corner- I guessed she wanted me to take the paper off. Unfortunately for Mommy, it was more fun for me to play with the untaped corner than to try to unwrap the gift. After a few more moments, Mommy got impatient and unwrapped my first present for me. That was okay with me... I got all of the benefits of the gift without any of the work! Since then, I have noticed several other gifts under the tree with my name on them. I will do my best to open these myself, but I must admit that I kind of like this "everyone-else-do-things-for-me" gig.
A Live Tree
Who knew that getting a live Christmas tree could be so complicated?! When we first went to the Big Gray Barn to look at the potted trees two weeks ago, we were optimistic that we would find one we liked and bring it home with us. While we did see several that we liked, we had no idea what it meant to have a live tree in the house during the holiday season. As one of the tree specialists informed us, live trees can only be in the house for a very short period of time (5-7 days) as they go into shock if they are left inside any longer. I guess there is a problem with a tree that is used to 30-40 degree weather being forced to adapt to 60-65 degree temperatures inside a house. On top of all of this, the specialist told us we would need to help the tree acclimate to being inside by keeping it in the garage for a couple of days before moving it all the way into the house. Boy, oh boy... things were getting complicated. As a result, we did not get a tree two weeks ago because Christmas was still too far away and Mommy didn't want a tree unless she could bring it inside and decorate it. So, after a longer wait than we anticipated, we picked out our tree Thursday afternoon, left it in the garage until Saturday afternoon, and brought it in Saturday evening to be decorated. Mommy says it is finally beginning to feel like Christmas...

Coming Soon
Mommy and Daddy are in the process of decorating the house for my very first Christmas celebration. Check back soon to see me picking out our Christmas tree and looking at all of the lights and decorations that Mommy and Daddy are putting up.
They Are Coming...
You may have guessed it... I am getting my first two teeth! They are coming in on the bottom and one is a little farther ahead than the other. Although I haven't felt much pain yet, I have been drooling A LOT and I try to keep something in my mouth at all times (it makes my gums feel better). I am not quite sure what you do with teeth, but Mommy said, "Ouch" and pulled her hand away when I stuck her finger in my mouth. All I know is that now I am going to need my first toothbrush. I figure that since my Godfather is a dentist he will hook me up.
World Traveler
Last week, Mommy and Daddy took me to Acapulco, Mexico for a special visit with Gran and Grandaddy. The plane ride was long, but I didn't mind. I was actually a really good baby. It was easy since Mommy and Daddy managed to get the middle seat for me on 3 out of the 4 flights. Anyway, I loved being able to go around in just a onesie. The weather was amazing- even at night. Mommy bought me a super cool inflatable boat that Daddy pushed me around the pool in. We even saw a live baby sea turtle making its way to the ocean. I had a great time! Now I can add Mexico to my world map of travel!
